Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a talented Outreach Manager/Project manager in Atlanta. The Outreach Manager / Deputy Project Manager will contribute to the growth of the Georgia TDM practice by assisting with the pursuit of new expanded opportunities. Within these opportunities, the individual is anticipated to play a key role in project management, client relations, and delivery of work tasks. And will perform a range of TDM and outreach tasks aimed at enhancing opportunities for individual travelers and commuters to utilize non-drive-alone means of transportation, including carpooling, vanpooling, public transit, bicycling, walking, teleworking, and other options. The Outreach Manager / Deputy Project Manager will be available to contribute to transportation and planning projects that include travel demand/public involvement/outreach tasks.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Day-to-day management and motivation of the 11-member GCO outreach team

  • Oversee the deployment of employer outreach activities, tracking and reporting to align with ARC’s Employer Engagement: A Strategic Approach to TDM Program Development in the Atlanta Region

  • Contribute to the effort to maintain a highly trained project staff through effective hiring, training, and ongoing professional development

  • Directly participate in outreach efforts by spending at minimum 50% of work hours in the field with outreach staff

  • Monitor individual outreach staff goals and performance making adjustments and taking corrective action when necessary

  • Assist with the planning and development of regional modal promotions (e.g., Biketober Annual Bicycle Challenge), regional employer training sessions and webinars, and special promotional efforts with an emphasis on guiding the implementation of these activities within the GCO outreach team and among member partners

  • Coordinate with the client contact on the effort to refine a GCO employer member pipeline through the application of regional data sources and business development databases

  • Utilizing the pipeline of leads, develop and foster relationships during the initial prospecting and membership phase and coordinate the transition to partnership with the Worksite Advisor

  • Track the conversion of leads by industry and territory; document activities over time in Salesforce

  • Create new and manage existing relationships with regional community partners and service organizations (e.g., Society for Human Resources, Relay Bike Share, Enterprise Rideshare)

  • Expand GCO’s reach and membership base by attending networking meetings and presenting to business/community groups

  • Assist Worksite Advisors to expand or develop partnerships with territory-specific stakeholder entities such as CIDs or Chambers of Commerce

  • Serve as the lead on industry-based and/or audience-specific outreach initiatives (e.g., engagement focus on GCO/hospital partnerships, college/university campaign)

  • Increase participation rates and program awareness among community partners, employer organizations and commuters in the metro Atlanta region

  • Lead special outreach initiatives; provide support as needed for worksite and school events scheduled by the outreach team

  • Assist with the compilation and delivery of program reports including the monthly report, quarterly updates, infographics, assessments and reports for modal promotions and regional trainings

  • Serve as the primary back-up for the Project Manager assisting with hiring and training efforts, staff development and identifying opportunities to enhance the overall program delivery and introduce creative approaches and innovations

  • Exceed monthly/quarterly/annual performance metrics

  • Devise new approaches to challenges encountered

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS and 2 years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 plus years of related TDM Project management or related field

  • 7 plus years of professional experience in outreach, field sales, and/or marketing;

  • 5 years of direct staff management and/or team development

  • Experienced skills in writing, interpersonal communication skills, and time management
