Job Summary

Our Civil Infrastructure business is looking for a highly driven Technical / Associate Director to join our Transport Advisory team based in Sydney. The role will have a strong focus on business and staff development and technical expertise within the Transport Planning sector. The successful candidate will be the driving force behind major projects and programs whilst enhancing our capability in the local market.

You will utilise your considerable experience within the transportation sector and be able to leverage local industry relationships, actively seeking new business opportunities to develop the AECOM brand in NSW. You will lead integrated project teams of planners, analysts, engineers and modellers to assist them in developing technical solutions to clients' problems through high quality project delivery.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leadership of business and strategic planning activities in order to identify opportunities to sustain business growth in short, medium and longer term

  • Ability to apply theory of planning and/ or engineering principles in the urban context in a range of scenarios to develop solutions to real world problems

  • Develop and retain a high level of technical skill

  • Develop and maintain relationships with external parties to ensure maximum benefit is achieved for AECOM from these relationships.

  • Provide high quality technical advice to clients that meets their needs

  • Activities will include seeking opportunities from clients, submitting proposals and delivering proactive technical leadership in transport advisory and cities projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Consulting or government experience with business development capability

  • Undergraduate degree in related discipline is essential

  • Good technical skills, knowledge and experience in transport planning, business cases, transport modelling and/ or traffic engineering

  • Understanding of theory of planning or engineering principles and their application in a range of scenarios to analyse real world problems and develop solutions

  • Experience in delivery of planning studies for cities/ regions / corridors.

Preferred Qualifications

Postgraduate qualifications are desirable, as are relevant professional training courses
