The successful candidate will utilize their expertise to collaborate with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Simulators Division (AFLCMC/WNS) to provide key research, analysis, recommendations, and critical actionable documents looking at a Mobility Air Force’s (MAF) Standard Simulator (MSS) for C-130H, C-130J, C-17, C-5, KC-135, KC-46, and potentially other MAF platforms. Successful accomplishment of this program will implement the AFLCMC/WNS vision of a full motion MSS that will enable informed decisions in replacing simulators or subsystems providing the MAF the “best bang for the buck” when conducting Live Virtual Constructive simulation training today and into the future.

Required to perform the following tasks:

  • Assist in market research to leverage best practices from commercial, USAF, Sister Services, and Allies to support alternatives to current systems to support the Simulator program office requirements.
  • Assist in a capability Gap Analysis of current MSS regarding concurrency, fidelity, network connectivity, interoperability, cybersecurity, productivity and sustainability by Weapons System ATS and capability improvements over current MAF full motion simulators sub-systems.
  • Assist in a study defining a full motion MSS accounting for hardware, software, levels of fidelity and a standard system architecture based on Model Based System Engineering development/design.
  • Review and translate operational needs statements and requirements from AFLCMC/WNS and end user (Air Mobility Command) in addition to the market research, gap analysis, and engineering study results into engineering requirements and specifications to be used in the development of the JCIDS-ready documentation.
  • Review requirements to identify potential security vulnerabilities during the design stage of technical solution development.
