Fire Services Chief

Plans, develops, and implements department policy. Directs and coordinates department operations. Reviews and develops departmental training. Coordinates departmental budget. Develops, maintains, and produces emergency operations plans for the department. Maintains contact with local community agencies. Plans and directs operations during training and emergencies. Plans, develops and implements an overall company long-term strategic plan involving fire protection. Formulates mission plans involving fire protection.

Oversee the operation of all matters pertaining to the department; Ensure that the vision of reducing and eliminating risk for the customer, contractors, firefighting personnel, and KBR is achieved at the highest level possible. Provide effective leadership for all firefighting and admin personnel necessary to carry out the duties and mission assigned. Supervise the firefighters for training requirements in order to maintain a high level of proficiency for mission accomplishment. Ensure the development and administration of the Fire Prevention Program covering: Standards, Code Enforcement, documentation and scheduling. Communicate effectively with customer, contractors, sub-contractors, local nationals and the Community Cultivating the relationships. Ensure effective maintenance of all facilities and equipment owned or leased assets by the USG.

Respond to critical emergencies with the capability of supporting or assuming Command. Supervise facilities with respect to schedule, manning requirements, vacation management, time card, and firefighter duties. Review timesheets for accuracy and meet payroll suspense. Maintain a Personnel Information File on each firefighting personnel pertaining to counseling, evaluation, payroll issues, mission related matters, etc.

Develop and maintain a leave calendar ensuring you maintain sufficient personnel strength to accomplish mission. Ensure firefighters conduct themselves in a professional manner and maintain a professional appearance IAW established standards. Assess the health and welfare of the personnel under your command. Request additional information as required to accomplish your mission and share information you discover during the day with your chain of command. Conduct formal counseling a minimum of every quarter for firefighters under your supervision IAW established procedures. Required to keep your chain of command informed of employee poor performance or poor discipline. Requires 15 years’ experience as a Station Chief/Captain in fire services, in an increasing responsibility role, knowledge of or worked in the Management, Operation, Prevention and Training areas of fire protection and a minimum 5 years of service as Assistant or Deputy Chief Officer. Practical experience conducting consequence management of emergency incidents while using the Integrated Command systems. Writes routine reports and correspondence using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power-point and Outlook software. Perform other duties

Must have current Department of Defense (DOD) Fire and Emergency Services Certification for Fire Chief; Fire Officer IV, Fire Inspector III, Fire Instructor III, HAZMAT Incident Commander and Airport Fire Fighters. Candidate must include last 4 of SSN to verify certifications via DoD Web site

Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance

  • Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 15 months of remaining validity AND with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining
  • Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity
