AECOM is seeking a TMC Trainer to be based in Atlanta, GA.
Transportation Management Center (TMC) Trainers are responsible for providing training at the TMC in the operation of the Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) software, customer service, and TM Operations. They are responsible for assisting with the development and maintenance of TM Operations training materials; assisting with the development and maintenance of TM Operations Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Standard Operating Guides (SOG), and Manuals; conducting recertification testing; and providing coaching on the operations floor to new and existing staff.
The routine responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Assists the Operations Training Manager (OTM) with the development and maintenance of a series of classroom and on-line training packages for TMC Operators, TMC Specialists, and TMC Supervisors
Provide on-site training at the TMC
Assist the OTM with the development and maintenance of classroom and on-line training in conjunction with the Department’s software provider on training for ATMS
Assist the OTM with the development and maintenance of a customer service training module aimed at TM Operations activities
Assist the OTM with the development and maintenance of TM Operations SOP, SOG, and Manuals
Assist the OTM with the development and maintenance of the training modules for the Learning Management System (LMS) to include updates of LMS modules to reflect operational needs of ATMS
Manage and support the LMS
Assist management teams in identifying and analyzing trends. Drive initiatives to identify corrective action plans to resolve performance issues
Organize and develop training manuals, reference library, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids, and educational materials
Conduct training, including retraining, of all TMC Operators; TMC Specialists; TMC Supervisors; and Management on the ATMS and Automated Location and Dispatch System (ALADS) software
Provide one-on-one mentoring and coaching for newly hired TMC operations staff and TMC Trainers
Review training materials and courses every two months to reflect any changes in technology and procedures
Participate in team-based process improvement, team-based performance monitoring, and training/re-training new policies and procedures
Conduct recertification testing
Perform training on the use and maintenance of the 511ga systems – phone, website, and mobile applications
Perform real-time quality assurance/quality control on operator incidents, alpha paging, and 511 calls
Send out course evaluation questionnaires following training courses and provide formal feedback to the Deputy Program Manager (DPM) and the Department
Conduct on floor coaching for new hires and existing staff
Adhere to TM Operations SOP, SOG, and Manuals
Capable of performing all of the TMC Operator and TMC Specialist duties
Spend one (1) full shift each month on the TMC floor functioning as a TMC Operator to gain more hands-on experience to improve training
Other ad-hoc initiatives as assigned by the Project Management Team

HS + 2 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Experience conducting training for programs of similar size and scope
Experience developing training materials for programs of similar size and scope
Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in an office environment. Position requires often performing keyboard/mouse operations and standing or sitting for long periods of time; occasionally standing/walking; rarely climbing stairs. Position may include wearing a dispatch headset, viewing CCTV camera displays, and listening to law enforcement radio broadcasts.
