Data Analyst/Technical Writer

Perform logistical data entry and analysis functions for Unmanned Air System (UAS) projects using EAGLE LSAR database, Access Database, and Microsoft Excel. The Data Analyst/Technical Writer will enter LSA data, create reports and provide analysis of those reports towards the progress and completion of a comprehensive GEIA 0007 logistics database. This position requires proficiency with understanding and performing LSAR database entries and GEIA 0007 logistics database layout. The Data Analyst/Technical Writer will review engineering documentation and direct data entry from the documentation into the EAGLE LSAR tool. The Data Analyst/Technical Writer will prepare draft material for internal review by subject matter experts and final review and acceptance by customer. The Data Analyst/Technical Writer will utilize EAGLE LSAR, EAGLE Publishing System, Adobe Acrobat, Oxygen XML, NAVAIR Standard IETM Viewer (NSIV) and Microsoft Office products.

The Data Analyst/Technical Writer must be flexible and have the ability to adapt to new information and programs. The Data Analyst/Technical Writer will perform technical writing functions for multiple projects including military maintenance, software, hardware technical manuals. The Data Analyst/Technical Writer will create new and convert legacy technical manuals and training support materials into XML (eXtensible Markup Language) using the ASD S1000D XML specification. The Data Analyst/Technical Writer will use engineering documentation, operator and maintenance manuals, logistics data, and direction from senior TW to create, write, revise, standardize, edit, review and finalize documents.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree plus 5-7 years’ experience in logistics field with direct LSA experience is required.

Applicant must hold or be able to get a government security clearance and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Preferred Skills:

Must have a solid understanding of LSAR processes and practices. Must be able to recognize LSA data and understand where this data resides in the LSAR based on GEI 0007. Must be able to recognize gaps in LSAR data. EAGLE experience is preferred.

Equipment and Machines:

Ability to operate office equipment such as personal computer, printer, copy machine, telephone, fax machine and other equipment including desk supplies and other work related tools as required.


Anticipated at Monday-Friday. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is critical. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines. Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements. Periodically, surge working events are required that occur based upon program needs, including nights and weekends.

Travel (including airline travel) is required. Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Independent personal transportation to work site is required. Applicant will be working in both office and aircraft hangar settings.
