Job Summary

Our Alternative Delivery Group is seeking a Senior Project Manager for major complex multi-disciplinary transportation projects based in either AECOM’s Mississauga Ontario office or Whitby office who is able to undertake design team and design contract management of large DB and P3 projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Overall project management and leadership in delivering major (multimillion or billion dollar) transportation projects.

  • Defining project scope, developing project plans, developing project schedules and developing and tracking fee estimates and project baselines and budgets.

  • Tracking project progress of deliverables, milestones and other commitments to clients.

  • Determining and taking corrective actions on contractual, technical and commercial issues

  • Building, organizing and motivating project teams and managing daily activities and resources

  • Identifying services to be provided by external companies and negotiating agreements

  • Chairing internal and external or client meetings representing AECOM

  • Ensuring client satisfaction and overseeing quality review process for submittals

  • Analyzing and managing project risk

  • Managing reports and necessary documentation

  • Developing policies and procedures to support the achievement of project objectives

  • Business development / developing leads aiding in winning new work

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor Degree in related field + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Must possess a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is preferred

  • 8+ years of relevant experience, including experience managing P3, D&B and other Alternative Delivery design projects

  • Experience managing large and complex multi-disciplinary projects (e.g. track, civil, signals, structural, architectural, environmental, electrical, systems, approvals, design and construction schedules, contract execution, interface management, requirements management, etc.)

  • Experience working with major contractors, public agencies, and municipalities (i.e. Cities, MTO, Metrolinx, CN, CP, TTC, VIA Rail, AMT, OC Transpo, or similar)

  • Experience dealing with both clients and technical staff

  • P.Eng. and/or PMP and/or MBA designation

  • Foundational experience that might include design and/or site work and/or construction / operations
