Job Summary

AECOM is looking for a self-motivated, experienced GIS Supervisor to work as an on-site contractor at a client site to provide project management and program coordination services to the Marine Corps GEOFidelis Program. This position is based at the Pentagon in Washington DC. The GIS Supervisor must have the skills and experience necessary to be a strong team leader, efficiently organize projects, coordinate and allocate resources, track the logistics of projects, and deliver quality results.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the portfolio of GEO Fidelisprojects ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope and budget, and with quality results.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the GEO Fidelis

  • Geospatial Information Officer (GIO) and project teams, delivering excellent communication and quality support throughout a project life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.

  • Analyze, plan, develop, and communicate requirements and standards to key stakeholders and across project teams.

  • Organize, document, and communicate status updates to program leads and relevant project teams.

  • Research and evaluate technology solutions and prepare cost/benefit analysis as needed.

  • Provide programmatic support and subject matter guidance on managing, as well as coordinating, program initiatives.

  • Meets with subject matter experts to discuss topics, such as technical specifications, customized solutions, and operational problems.

  • Manage web-based geospatial content/apps/systems and maintain a digital GIS Program Binder detailing the processes and actions involved in completing assigned duties.

  • Provide consultation for ArcGIS Portal strategic planning and resolution of issues, technical assistance, and training and liaison support with installation/regional/HQMC IGI&S Manager or other functional communities.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in geography, planning, engineering, computer science, or a related technical field with emphasis in geographic information systems (GIS) + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Valid driver’s license

  • US Citizen based on the need to obtaining a secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of GIS experience

  • 2 years of experience working with the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) suite of standards.

  • Have the ability to work independently and with a team of professionals

  • Excellent time management and communication skills

  • Able to work independently and communicate directly with customers from multiple business areas
