Title:

Sr. Software Engineer

Position Description:

  • This candidate will serve as a Senior Software Engineer on-site and full time at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC. NRL Solar and Heliophysics branch is seeking a lead flight software developer to develop embedded code for space remote sensing instrumentation.
  • The engineer will work within a small existing, highly experienced team to develop and test flight software code and modules for state of the art space flight hardware.

Position Requirements:

  • The applicant is expected to have experience in embedded code preferably for space flight or other autonomous systems.
  • The applicant would be expected to refine and understand code/module requirements, develop and test associated code.
  • The developer would be expected to document results, present progress and technical status at the various sponsor reviews. This is a unique opportunity to build flight software for space systems for astronomical applications.

Level of Education: Four Year Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or CE Bachelor Degree (Minimum)

Years of Experience: 10+ Years

Must be a US Citizen because of the sensitivity of work.
