UABOS: Spain - Freight Traffic Supervisor


Supervises staff and operations for airlift transport of cargo and mail. Ensures the safe loading/unloading of aircraft, oversees proper preparation and maintenance of air movement records and reports including all cargo documentation, packaging, labeling and marking requirements, and all border clearance requirements. Implements necessary safety and security precautions for handling and storing dangerous materials, special cargoes, mail, and baggage. Performs supervisory activities over staff including delegation of work assignments, training, evaluation, etc.


Shall meet the qualifications of AFSC 2T071, Freight Traffic Supervisor. Shall possess qualifications for the special handling of hazardous cargo. Shall supervise the freight function, interpret and apply carrier tariff, rate service tenders and freight classifications, and be knowledgeable with shipment and receipt procedures for MICAP/999 cargo. Shall be proficient with shipment planning procedures, documentation for all shipment modes and discrepancy reporting procedures. Shall possess or have the ability to obtain a driver’s license IAW Host Nation laws, applicable AFI’s, or SOFA requirements. Shall attend various DoD/EUCOM/AF training, conferences and symposiums to stay current on requirements. Shall be dual- hatted as a primary Senior Customs Border Clearance Agent (SCBCA), meeting all training and program requirements IAW DTR 4500.9, Part V. TMO personnel may be tasked to perform U.S. Customs and Agriculture duties as well as program management.

Shall have two years classifying freight, preparing bills of lading and customs documentation, maintaining shipping records, planning shipments and inspecting shipments for adequacy of packing and crating.
