SAIC is seeking an Enterprise Architect in Austin, TX to provide Systems and Operational Architecture to support Army Futures Command (AFC). 


Note:  This role offers temporary work from home/ remote/ virtual work as part of a virtual team due to COVID-19. 

We are seeking an energetic individual with a strong desire to expand their knowledge while increasing their responsibilities in the modernization of the US Army. The customer organization we support provides the enterprise architecting, analysis, and systems engineering solutions that will determine the future integrated systems in the US Army.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Support the architecting, analysis, and systems engineering solutions at the Enterprise level of AFC.
  • Identify and align requirements, derive system architecture and functional design, and identify associated risks to ensure products meet Army requirements
  • Apply AFC strategy and architecture needed to support decision making
  • Consolidate current and planned system architectures
  • Develop architecture models to capture the holistic view of the enterprise Identify and defining future capability and interoperability needs while working across multiple Offices and Organizations
  • Identify critical architecture and system level trades
  • Maintain data dictionary and data lineage across architecture components


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors of Science in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline and 14 of experience; OR Masters and 12 years or more experience;  OR PhD or JD 9 years or more experience
  • Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain an interim Secret clearance prior to starting and upgrade/obtain a TS/SCI clearance
  • Familiarization with the US Army’s staff operating procedures and the Military Decision Making Process
  • Proven experience with technical fundamentals in an existing Army program (e.g., ground vehicles, air, missile defense, soldier systems)
  • Expert-level proficiency with use of architecture tool(s) to support senior level enterprise decision making
  • Architecture domain understanding from a holistic enterprise perspective
  • Experience with interoperability either Joint Interoperability OR Multinational Interoperability
  • Ability to recommend enterprise architecture tradeoffs, impacts, and advancement
  • Proven experience in the development and use of modeling for architecture solutions
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Customer-focused and capable of representing the customer in community forums
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF)
  • Experience in Cameo EA or MagicDraw, similar Enterprise Architecture Tool set
  • Certified Architect (e.g. DoDAF, TOGAF, UPDM, MODAF, Zachman) a PLUS!
