Job Summary

The UKI Head of Marketing and Communications will create and implement marketing and communications strategies for the region. Drawing together the strands of the AECOM brand to develop Internal and External communications strategies to support employee and client engagement, and measurable client driven strategic marketing campaigns, they will support the business goals and growth for the UKI region. This position can be based from any UKI AECOM Office.

Working as part of the UKI leadership team, the UKI Head of Marketing and Communications will be expected to demonstrate experience, and a deep understanding of employee engagement, communications, stakeholder management and marketing strategy development and delivery. They should also have experience supporting the pre-positioning and capture of key pursuits. Working alongside HR they will lead on employee engagement and culture development. In partnership with the end market leads, they will champion the voice of the client by defining, prioritizing and leading the development of insights, strategies and marketing plans that are aligned with business and marketing goals.

In this role, the UKI Head of Marketing and Communications will be expected to manage, mentor and motivate the UKI marketing and communications team, and provide clear leadership to maximize performance. They will lead the development of a system of critical review and appraisal to improve future marketing and communications strategy and will lead and direct the allocation of marketing support to support business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Leads on the development of insights about AECOM that impact business decisions

  • Promotes a strong employee and client focus leading on marketing and communications strategies

  • Develops and implements the internal communications strategy for the UK+I

  • Provides direct internal communications counsel to the UK & Ireland Chief Executive developing and executing their internal communications plan

  • Work with the head of marketing and communications and UKI head of communications to develop responses to crisis communications situations.

  • Leads on aspects of culture change, using communications to champion model behaviours and help make aspired company culture manifest

  • Leads a marketing strategy that supports key stakeholders to help create a client-led organization and infrastructure that supports business growth

  • Champions the voice of the client in key decisions and leads the Voice of the Client programme client listening, bid feedback) for the UKI region

  • Supports the development of key client engagement tools

  • Leads the development of UKI brand strategy and articulates desired brand positioning

  • Leads the embedding of digital capability into marketing strategy to support business growth

  • Leads and promotes the use of metrics to improve marketing and communications effectiveness

  • Leads the development of a system of critical review and appraisal to improve future marketing and communications strategy

  • Develops pre-positioning strategies to support the capture of key pursuits

Minimum Requirements

  • Substantial experience working in a similar role and position, in a professional services environment

  • Self-starter with the ability to work as a positive, energized and adaptable team member

  • Previous role within a global organization would be preferable but not essential

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, able to prioritize effectively

  • An understanding of the design and construction industry would be beneficial but not essential

Preferred Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level with formal marketing training or qualification (e.g. CIM).
