Job Summary

Aecom Winnipeg is looking for a Senior Project Manager.

The Transportation Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented and self-motivated Senior Project Manager for immediate employment in the Winnipeg, Manitoba office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Civil Engineering specific to transportation and urban and rural conceptual, functional, preliminary and detailed road design; pavement design, drainage design, utility coordination, traffic studies and traffic operations, construction contract administration, proposal development and the preparation of construction documents, including plans, specifications and construction estimates.

  • Directs and managers the entire project, guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface.

  • Accountable for all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.

  • Overall responsibility and management of project including but not limited to budgeting/schedule stage, procurement, through contract closeout.

  • Position has primary fiscal responsibility and key liaison between client for assigned project.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor Degree + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant discipline area

  • Ideally 10+ years experience in related engineering background

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Autocad

  • Experience with Manitoba municipal and/or provincial road design projects

  • Competent in utilizing Ministry of Transportation design software / programs and applying Ministry Highway design policies and procedures

  • Experience with Transportation Association of Canada Geometric Design Manual for Canadian Roads (2017), and MTO Design Supplement, and the MTO Roadside Design Manual (2017)

  • Registered Professional Engineer in Manitoba

  • Field construction and contract administration experience

  • Knowledge, training and experience with the Manitoba OH&S Act and safe work practices

  • Successful candidate should have the ability to provide technical oversight and management of highway design for a variety of complex transportation projects including both rehabilitation and new construction assignments

  • Ability to achieve and maintain high levels of quality and consistency of all client deliverables and outputs

  • Have strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills

  • Be able to communicate effectively with Clients

  • Be able to provide innovative design solutions

  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement
