Network Technician Intern

KBR has an immediate need for an energetic and dynamic Network Technician Intern in support of the United States Geological Survey (USGS) Earth Resources Observation & Science (EROS) Center ( ) near Sioux Falls, SD ( at ). KBR offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

The Network Technician Intern will join our talented Network Administration team within the Technical Support Services Contract (TSSC) / Information Technology Services Division (ITSD). The primary responsibility of this position is to perform basic network functions to configure, maintain, and support the EROS Center network duties. Other duties include providing help desk customer support, staying abreast of new technologies and introducing these new technologies into the environment where they will improve business processes.

Education : Working on an Associate Degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent; BS degree desired.

Experience : Customer service/technical training experience working in a fast-paced team-oriented, high demand, collaborative environment.

The work encompasses, but is not limited to--

  • Troubleshooting basic network trouble tickets
  • Document internal procedures
  • Maintain, track and report project status and metrics
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Willing to learn the most up-to-date IT methods.
  • Follow helpdesk/desktop support best practices (ITIL-centric) to ensure accurate, timely problem resolution.

The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a national agency check and background investigation after hire to obtain a badge for facility access and user accounts.
