The KBR Software and IT Solutions Sector is looking for a Mid-Level Systems Administrator to support our Integrated Mechanical Diagnostics System (IMDS) Maintenance Engineering Groundstation for Aviation (MEGA) Team. Specifically, we are looking for qualified candidates to perform systems integration, configuration and maintenance for 109 IMDS Systems that utilize the Windows Server Operating Systems and Aircraft Diagnostic Software deployed to all Navy/Marine Corp networks. Implement and maintain cyber security compliance Provide daily support to H-1, H-53, H-60 squadron personnel, which includes providing access to servers and data.

Troubleshooting and resolving network connectivity issues, printing problems, hardware failures, database corruptions, software configurations. Develop a Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) for risk, threats and vulnerabilities that cannot be mitigated within an appropriate timeframe. Identify, acquire, configure and deploy new hardware (Web Servers, Fleet deployed Toughbooks, Aegis Padlock encrypted external hard drives, RAM) in a test environment to analyze performance in order to validate if hardware meets IMDS and Aircraft Diagnostic software requirements. Perform H-1, H-53, and H-60 squadron flight data integrity analysis to support fleet readiness. Perform hardening of IMDS Systems in accordance with Cyber Security requirements contained in the IMDS Risk Management Framework (RMF) authorization. Execute and track IMDS procurements from cradle to grave including identifying emergent requirements while maintaining eMass and DADMS compliance.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline (8 years of experience can be substituted for the educational requirements), and 5 years relevant experience
  • Clearance Requirement: US Citizen with a DoD Secret clearance or US Citizen with eligibility for a DoD clearance
  • CompTIA Security + Certification

Experience / Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues
  • Manage the configuration and operation of client & server-based computer operating systems (Windows 10SHB, Windows Server2008/2012R2, Oracle Database, VRAM, ACAS, NESSUS, Citrix Presentation Server, Remote Desktop Gateway, SQlite, and MS SQL Server 2008/2012/2014)
  • Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns/issues
  • Create and verify backups of data
  • Respond to and resolve requests from the customer
  • Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution
  • Understand networking well enough to manage incoming and outgoing traffic
  • Manage and maintain malware protection software and processes
  • Review system and application logs
  • Install and test computers and computer related equipment
  • Ability to work closely with all levels of program and organizational personnel, including but not limited to customers, program/project managers, software engineers, testers, quality assurance, release managers, and configuration managers
  • Strong interpersonal skills a plus
  • Motivated self-starter, strong logical, creative problem-solving skills and excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent and effective oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
