SAIC is looking to fill a position for a Linux System Administrator/Architect who manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of systems which may be mainframe, mini, or client/server based. Plan and monitor the optimizing of system operation and resource utilization and perform systems capacity analysis and planning. Plan and monitor assistance to users in accessing and using business systems. The candidate must be a forward-thinking Linux System Administrator/Architect to support the modernization, deployment, configuration, security, and operation of Enterprise Information Technology infrastructure for a variety of customers and application workloads.
BS/BA or Six (6) years' related experience, or AA + three (3) years' related experience
Three or more years working in an Enterprise IT infrastructure.
Three or more years of experience in UNIX/Linux administration.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q level security clearance.
Familiarity with application, web, and database workloads on Unix/Linux platforms
Familiarity with configuration management/automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, etc.
Familiarity with patch management tools such as Red Hat Satellite
Working knowledge of authentication methodologies like Kerberos, PAM, and LDAP
Working knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, DNS, FTP, SSH, and other common Internet protocols
Experience scripting (Shell, BASH, other)
Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Demonstrated experience in effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a constantly changing environment
Ability to develop and nurture effective relationships internal and external to the organization
Active DOE Q or DoD Top Secret clearance eligible for reciprocity
