For the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), GDIT provides enterprise IT services for DHS’s biometric identity management system (IDENT) and the Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM) to store, match, share, and analyze biometric and biographic data in support of DHS’s strategic mission. Specifically, GDIT performs operations and maintenance (O&M) of OBIM infrastructure components, production and non-production environments, and associated OBIM functionality and business systems. GDIT’s O&M services support break-fix of current OBIM functional capabilities, as well as security remediation activities and developmental engineering (such as prototyping new code or configurations of OBIM functionality). GDIT is looking for an Asset Management Systems Engineer who will be responsible for maintaining enterprise hardware and software configuration items (CIs) and tracking those assets using CMDB best practices as part of a large Operations and Maintenance team supporting client business and project support requirements. The Asset Management Systems Engineer will adhere and follow the asset lifecycle to track the Install, Move, Add, Change, and Decommission (IMACD) of client assets.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Application administration of Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) tools in order to discover systems and build relationships in the CMDB
- Follows the OBIM Change Management process to determine asset hardware and software status 
- Facilitates meetings and partners with the OBIM client and vendors to determine asset actions or CI status
- Performs CMDB administration and executes OBIM's methodology to maintain hardware and software assets
- Uses ITSM and performance management tools to validate asset status
- Demonstrate principles and techniques of Data Center Operations Management in accordance with Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) standards

Required Skills / Qualifications:
• DHS HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain/maintain Final Suitability
• Bachelors degree and 5+ years experience in relevant fields
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting , and management skills
• Strong communication skills, ability to adapt to changing environment, and work cohesively with the team

Desired Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree in computer engineering, systems engineering, computer science, information systems, or related field of study
• 8+ years of directly related experience
• Familiarity with ServiceNow Enterprise Asset Management program
• Certification in any of the following is desired:
   o ITIL Foundation
   o Amazon Web Services (AWS)
