AFPSL: Calibration Engineer

Our Metrology Technicians Resolves group and customer issues, seeks to improve the overall productivity of the department, anticipates problems and initiates appropriate actions to eliminate them. Proficient at understanding and writing reports and work instructions and assists customers to define technical requirements to meet their objective. Perform complex maintenance and repair work on equipment to include the following responsibilities / duties.

Please Note: Position is contingent upon contract award.

Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Electrical calibrations and metrology processes. Act as the main point of contract for all electrical calibration questions and/or assistance from the labs.


  • Setup new calibration processes and extend current ones.
  • Provide assistance to the Technical Order Program for the development of calibration procedures and/or technical documents.
  • Participate in any calibration process improvements
  • Provide technical assistance to the laboratories as needed
  • Determine calibration standards needed to meet accuracy and uncertainty for each of the parameters
  • Participate in the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 audits
  • Manage all actions needed to collect uncertainty data
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 7 years of relevant experience of which 5 years direct Metrology engineering experience
  • ISO/IEC 17025:2017 experience
  • AFMETCAL experience is a plus
  • TO 00-20-14 experience is a plus
  • Military PMEL experience
  • Primary standards calibration experience required
  • Measurement Uncertainty process and associated calculations experience
