AFPSL: Technical Order Editor

Our Metrology Technicians Resolves group and customer issues, seeks to improve the overall productivity of the department, anticipates problems and initiates appropriate actions to eliminate them. Proficient at understanding and writing reports and work instructions and assists customers to define technical requirements to meet their objective. Perform complex maintenance and repair work on equipment to include the following responsibilities / duties.

Please Note: Position is contingent upon contract award.

The Technical Order Editor is responsible for the development of Air Force Technical Orders and other Technical Documents as requested by AFMETCAL.


  • The Technical Editors review all work performed by the Technical Writers and make any updates and recommendations as needed.
  • Analyze, review, and approve all Technical Orders performed by the Technical Order Writers
  • Provide changes and/or feedback to the Technical Order Editors and updates necessary on documents
  • Coordinate with Calibration Engineers on any questions and/or assistance needed on Technical Orders"
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.


Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.

  • Bachelors Degree with a minimum 4 years of related experience. Equivalent experience in lieu of formal education
  • ISO/IEC 17025:2017 experience
  • AFMETCAL experience is a plus
  • 2-5 years of Technical Writing experience
  • Demonstrated metrology experience preferred
