Description

SAIC is actively seeking a Principal Systems Engineer with an active TS/SCI to work with a diverse team of analysts, linguists, cultural experts, and operations officers, focused on creating and recognizing targeting opportunities and strategies in the cyber-realm

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a variety of networks & systems in a mission-critical enterprise environment. 

Daily responsibilities may include: 

  • Monitoring and maintaining 50 server production cluster and a 12 server development cluster, installation of new hardware and software, capacity planning, testing of new solutions in a dedicated testbed environment, and participation in design and build processes. 
  • Expressing and defending opinions and practices in technical discussions. 
  • Interacting with end users of varying knowledge levels is also required. 
  • Participating in security industry conferences, trade shows, and seminars is highly encouraged.  

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
  • Security+ or CISSP certification on day one.
  • Working Knowledge of TCP/IP, network infrastructure, and networked appliances, to include administrative access and configuration experience.  MUST be fully conversant in the OSI model.
  • Advanced knowledge of Cisco Hyperflex
  • Advanced Knowledge of VMWare:  6.5, 7, Horizon, ESXi, vSphere, vCenter.
  • Advanced Knowledge of VMWare Horizon
  • Experience with Windows Server Administration
  • Experience with Digital Certificates (ex. PKIs)
  • Ability to troubleshoot systems issues in real time, without causing additional downtime
  • Knowledge of printers, networked print queues, and basic maintenance.
  • Knowledge of rules and procedures for handling government classified and proprietary information, and experience working within a secure facility.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, including the ability to defuse situations, and to deal with individuals who might not fully understand the technology

Desired Education, Certifications, Skills, Expertise, Years of Experience:

  • Knowledge of UNIX and Linux systems.
  • Knowledge of VPN technology and implementation.
  • Working knowledge of popular, legacy, and new social media, blog sites, and mobile applications.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance (PR within 6 years)
  • Active and/or Subject to a polygraph
