Description
Make a difference for national security by joining a team of dedicated professionals in El Segundo, CA who assist the US Air Force in developing and deploying the next generation of satellites and ground systems for missile warning (MW) and Environmental Monitoring (EM). These systems alert senior military officials when missile launches occur around the globe, as well as enable global naval vessel and troop movements by providing mission-critical weather data to ensure safe passage.
Our Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team has an immediate need for a Systems Engineer with experience in applying Digital Engineering or Model Based Systems Engineering tools and techniques for Department of Defense (DoD) space-based systems or other industries. This role provides systems engineering and integration expertise in support of the Space and Missile Systems Center's (SMC) MW and EM mission areas.
Primary responsibilities include:
Applying MBSE tools and techniques to capture system functions, services, interfaces, requirements, and concepts of operation to support system design
Supporting requirements analysis and functional allocation to hardware, software, operator and other segments and components of the system(s) within the models
Integrating models from disparate stakeholders into a cohesive end-to-end environment to enable end-to-end architectural insight
Production of model views, including DoDAF products, to support program milestones and documentation
Enable the generation of systems engineering documentation for requirements, ICDs, systems design, CONOPS, verification and test
Collaborating with prime contractors, other team contractors, government civilians, and members of the U.S. Air Force.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Math, Science or Engineering with 9+ Years of demonstrated system engineering and integration experience with space, ground, operations and sustainment segments of DoD or NRO programs with a proven delivery record.
A comparable Bachelor’s Degree with 11+ Years of demonstrated experience may be considered.
Experience working across space and ground segment organizations to coordinate and identify system requirements and key performance parameters to ensure end-to-end mission performance requirements are met.
Experience with DoDAF and architecture development.
Experience with Sparx Enterprise Architect, No Magic Cameo, IBM Rhapsody or other comparable MBSE tools
Highly motivated individual who is a self-starter and works well in a team environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational and interpersonal skills
Active DoD Secret Clearance
Desired Qualifications
Active TS with SSBI
Demonstrated experience working with Air Force/DoD customers in an acquisition environment, with space and/or ground systems.
