Job Summary
AECOM is looking for an Environmental Scientist in our Anchorage AK area. Responsibilities of this position will include executing projects involving environmental investigation and remediation services including performing field studies and analyses, regulatory research, drilling and sampling, creating spreadsheets, and compiling and writing reports and other documents. The successful candidate leads tasks and executes projects while meeting cost, schedule, safety, and quality objectives. The candidate will also effectively lead tasks and small project teams by coordinating and communicating with project team members, other project managers, and other AECOM offices and will support the professional development and growth of junior level staff. Compliance projects related to other environmental media may also be supported, as the candidate's qualifications allow.
Additional responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provide technical support to existing clients
Support marketing efforts for new and existing clients
Complete projects on time and accurately
Promote and demonstrate a positive, team-oriented attitude
Strategic regulatory analyses
Interface with government clients and regulators
Develop technical presentations
Conduct internal technical reviews and detail checks
Assist in negotiation of permit conditions with regulatory agencies
Evaluate the effectiveness of control technologies in achieving emission reductions and the cost of controls.

We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Sciences, or related science field.
2 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Must have a valid driver’s license
Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
BA/BS in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Sciences, or related field.
5+ years relevant experience working with government projects
4+ years of environmental investigation and remediation services experience
