The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Building analytic and design skills
Conducting engineering design under the supervision of anexperienced Engineer
Creating designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced Engineer
Collecting and analyzing data under the supervision of an experienced Engineer
Using computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems
Performing work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision
The successful candidate must be prepared to work in the vigorous environment of Transportation construction
Excellent documentation and communication skills are a must for this position as the successful candidate will also be responsible for communicating directly with Contractors, Engineers, and clients
Coordinating construction schedules to ensure items of work are constructed according to contract documents

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering
Must have a Valid Driver's License
US citizen required
2-5 years of construction engineering experience with WisDOT or municipalities
The ability to work in potentially remote and physically demanding field conditions of a construction site
GPS and Survey equipment knowledge
Familiarity with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and MS Office
Familiarity with the municipal, county, and non-WisDOT construction projects
Familiarity with WisDOT Standard Specifications and material certification requirements
WisDOT material certifications including AGGTECH, PCCTECH, Nuclear Density
