Position Title: M&A and Transaction Advisory Lead - EMEA

Position Description/Job Responsibilities

KBR’s global business comprises two main segments – Government Solutions (GS) and Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS). This role sits within STS in the Advisory Consulting business unit. The Advisory Consulting business unit is a leading provider of professional advisory and consulting solutions for customers in the government, natural resources and industrial markets. We offer customers tremendous value through both deep technical and broad current understanding of market and technology trends.

To undertake the role of M&A and Transaction Advisory Lead for the EMEA region for business opportunities in Energy, utilities, infrastructure, clean/green energy development, storage, transportation and monetization fields. The position would be based in UK, but other locations within EMEA will be considered. Under broad direction this position would require coordination of resources and expertise with other KBR offices and business units worldwide.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Core Functions:

  • Develop and implement EMEA M&A and Transaction Advisory strategy
  • Develop business opportunities in a seller/doer capacity:
  • M&A Advisory
  • Supporting Corporate Development activities of companies and government-owned entities across all sectors for M&A, divestitures and privatisations activities
  • Providing buy and sell side lender’s technical advisory and due diligence to lenders and financial institutions
  • Providing training to corporate clients and government entities across the M&A pipeline
  • Project Finance Advisory
  • Supporting the global lending community for major capital projects meeting the needs of debt providers (financial advisors, Export Credit Agencies, Sovereign Wealth Funds and other 3rd party debt providers)
  • Provide project and program management assistance to clients and project teams on large projects
  • Participate in developing strategy, financial, project delivery, business planning, funding, procurement and recommendations for clients
  • Provide inputs and support for strategic market communications and actively engage in creating thought leadership
  • Support strategic capability development initiatives for the M&A / Transaction Advisory subject matter
  • Supporting/Advising companies on project finance transactions


  • Report to the Advisory Consulting Operations Director - EMEA. Dotted line to M&A and Transaction Advisory Lead - Americas.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with KBR global stakeholders
  • Coordinate with Advisory Consulting operations resources for project execution


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, MBA graduate highly desirable
  • Significant Energy industry experience, with several years specific to M&A and Transaction Advisory services
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of capital project/program funding, financing and delivery mechanisms
  • Strong, demonstrable knowledge of the EMEA Energy industry M&A landscape, trends and market outlook
  • Demonstrable relationships and experience working with financial institutions, debt providers and the investment community on Energy industry related M&A and financing deals
  • Experience in working at executive/ C suite/ C-1 where negotiating G2G / G2B business opportunities
  • Business development and leadership experience with demonstrable experience of such and access to / relationships with key Client accounts
  • Experience with renown advisory/consulting firms with demonstrated capabilities to grow advisory business will be an advantage
  • Experience in Project Financing including project financing structures / contracts related to the Energy sector
  • A CFA qualification would be a bonus
  • Experience with large-scale energy/infrastructure projects with proven project management skills
  • Experience structuring energy financing transactions and/or procurements and the commercial aspects of the associated documentation
  • Proven quantitative analytical capabilities; ability to build market-accepted financial models
  • Outstanding critical thinking skills with the ability to solve unstructured problems
