experience exciting opportunities!POSITION SUMMARYLead the NPTC packaging team in driving profitable growth through development and implementation of innovative and competitive packaging technologies/concepts, systems and processes within the product category being consistent with Global, Zone and Market business plans. Provide expertise and product specific support and training to operating companies. Develop people, and packaging vision/strategy for the respective business• Key Responsibilities:• List the main results which the job must deliver in order to achieve its purpose.Consumer-centric Innovation and Technology Leadership: • Functional leadership for packaging in the NPTC, key contact to business• Lead and inspire a multi-functional team and develop the packaging strategy, to integrate said strategy into the Science and Technology Roadmaps and align with I&R pipeline of the business, to explore novel technologies, and to launch innovative concepts in the markets.• Develop standards for filling & packing machines and units according to LEAN and TPM principles and in line with NWSM (Nestlé Way in Standard Manufacturing). Guardian of packaging equipment standards for the defined technology platform.Project Management:• Lead a team of specialists to ensure on-time, on-quality and on-cost delivery of projects; influence prioritization of projects within portfolio and allocate resources based on value-creation, impact and alignment with global strategy.• Assure projects alignment with business related I&R pipeline and related S&T RoadmapsTechnical assistance:• Deliver technical assistance to the markets on design and specifications of new lines as well as on reliability issues on current lines.Organization:• As representative and key contact of the dedicated business for packaging, coordinate the cross NPTC functional organization to ensure alignment between packaging teams and BU on packaging strategy, project portfolio management, I&R.• Lead toward the achievement of the mission and the packaging strategy. • Maintain an effective coordination of communication, resources and planning of activities with R&D Centers, packaging communities and packaging platformsPeople and Know-how: • Lead and develop a multi-functional team of specialists, experts, project managers, and engineers to deliver the needs of the business. • Build capability of the broader population through training. Foster a culture of networking and collaboration within the team and with relevant stakeholders. Establish & maintain core competencies in the appropriate areas of packaging. • Develop expertise development in the field of filling and packing and promote competence in the markets in this field through mentoring and coaching. • Actively participate in Expert Networks. Share knowledge and create networks with other communities of experts internally and externally KEY RELATIONSHIPS (INTERNAL)Global Category Leaders and ManCom including R&D Manager and Technical Manager Nestle Packaging InstituteMarkets - Technical Director, Packaging Manager, Innovation Manager, BEM'SCorporate Functions - TCU-Packaging, Operations, ProcurementPackaging Managers in R&D (NPTC) and in Markets Packaging Network Leaders NPTC Leadership TeamKEY RELATIONSHIPS (EXTERNAL)Key suppliers, converters, engineering companies, Design and research agencies, Research Institutes, Universities, professional associations, Packaging and Design schoolsEXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS• Masters Degree in Packaging or Printing Technology, Mechanical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent (PhD preferred)• Broad experience on packaging development and project management • Line management with demonstrated leadership experience• More than 10 years of operational / R&D experience in a packaging or engineering position • Proven ability to interact with scientific/technical experts and commercial colleagues.• Proven track record in delivering projects involving cross-functional teams.• Good understanding of the business environmentPREFERRED SKILLS• Communication skills (strong verbal and written required)/Interpersonal skills/Employee Relations • Interface effectively with all levels of the sites’ organization. • Ability to influence with integrity • Able to work in team environment. • Ability to prioritize and multi-task. • Training and presentation skills. • Technical writing skills (policies, procedures, reference manuals) • Computer skills (Microsoft/Windows based) • Initiative to lead continuous improvement efforts. ADDITIONAL NOTES Individual must be able to demonstrate ability to work constructively with everyone who contributes; to be open to fresh ideas and leverage diversity of backgrounds and experiences; and to act with integrity.
