Responsible for troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment breakdown issues  Basic electrical, instrumentation and PLC troubleshooting, predictive and preventive maintenance training, processing work orders per CMMS systems.  PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:The operation and maintenance of the Industrial Refrigeration Services, which covers:• The generation and distribution of refrigeration services to the storage, process and distribution of ingredients and finished products• The sourcing, treatment and use of water in the refrigeration process• The use of refrigeration in air handling, i.e. – Refrigerated Makeup Air Units (RMAU), etc• The treatment of Refrigeration waste such as oil, oily rags, contaminated cooling fluids, etc• Monitor the Refrigeration system plans (PSM, RMP, SOP’s, etc.) and objectives in accordance with the Engineering Policy and report deviations to the Industrial Services Supervisor• Participate in the implementation of work processes, procedures and technical resources related to Refrigeration• Monitor, document and optimize the energy cost of operating the Refrigeration system• Monitor and document Refrigeration operations in accordance with the key performance indicators and regulatory requirements• Demonstrate and promote the company's values within the Refrigeration team• Responsible for all major Utilities that go in and out of the factory: Electricity, Water, Refrigeration, Steam, Compressed Air, Etc• Waste Water – Maintenance, monitoring, management• HVAC – Maintenance, monitoring management• Boilers – Maintenance, monitoring, management• Buildings and grounds – maintenance• As other duties assigned by supervisorThe functional responsibilities for a Refrigeration Operator/Mechanic are to: • Maintain an attitude of absolute intolerance for unsafe situations. That all team members will never implement any change, whether directly instructed to, or under his/her own initiative, without first questioning its impact in relation to product safety and quality, people safety and the environment. No compromises should be tolerated• Ensure that all refrigerants and treatment fluids (natural, synthetic, glycol, brine, water, water-conditioning chemicals) that come, or may accidentally come, in direct contact with products are treated according to acceptance criteria for product and processes.• Ensure that every effort is directed towards a "low cost, highly efficient" operation• Participate in meetings with Production, Quality Management and Engineering to discuss and resolve technical issues• Ensure that the Refrigeration systems are operated, maintained, distributed and inspected in accordance with all internal and external standards, regulations and audits (e.g. ammonia systems, pressure vessels, PSM, RMP, etc.)• Ensure the efficient conversion of energy, treatment of water and the proper treatment and disposal of waste• Play an active role in assisting the factory in improving energy usage and reducing waste across the site through continual improvement initiatives• Complete the required operator/mechanic training, obtain the required certification(s) and maintain sufficient utilities process and equipment functional knowledge to operate the Refrigeration systems• Ensure that the documentation is always up to date and both legal and Nestlé compliant, i.e. flow diagrams, HVAC Schematics, P&ID’s, log sheets, equipment records, operating permits, etc• Ensure that the safety systems and alarms are operating correctly, the equipment listed in the emergency plans are functional and ready to be utilized in an emergency and that all required training to handle emergencies has been completed, or requested• Monitor all outsourced activities relating to Refrigeration• Provide information to the energy and environmental reporting systemResponsibilities relating to the Maintaining & Improvement (M&I) of Refrigeration Services:• Execute M&I in accordance with the Nestlé Maintenance Strategy, proactively maintain/improve the fixed assets• Adopt the Maintenance Excellence vision by performing planned, preventive maintenance on all utilities and building assets. Completed scheduled, planned work orders for inspection, service and repairREQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:• High school diploma or GED required. EXPERIENCE:• This position requires a minimum of two years demonstrated plant utility operation/maintenance experience or,• A combination of experience and formal trade school training to equal two or more years• Ammonia refrigeration, boilers, HVAC, air compressors, welding, pipefitting, and basic pneumatic and experience preferred• Basic electrical, instrumentation and PLC troubleshooting experience preferred• Predictive and preventive maintenance training, processing work orders per CMMS systems, and computer literacy of Word/Excel formats perferred. Must be able to read and understand technical manuals. Must have the ability to communicate and participate in a team problem-solving environment SKILLS:• Must be able to read and understand technical manuals, P&IDs, drawings, and SOPs• Computer literacy of Word/Excel media • Ability to problem-solve, decision-making skills, to communicate and participate in team problem-solving environment.• Computer skills – use of CMMS• Knowledge of TPM a plus • Basic electrical knowledge and troubleshooting skills – measure voltages and identify electrical hazards
