Join the Advanced Forensics and Cyber Team of technical leaders that delivers advanced technical solutions to government intelligence agencies and offers highly-challenging positions with significant impact on national security in the areas of computer forensics/mobile device forensics; data and media recovery; reverse engineering; intrusion analysis and methodologies; and vulnerability assessments.  Currently, ManTech is seeking a Mid-level Senior Computer Forensics Software Engineer for Chantilly, Virginia.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•Work in an agile scrum development environment to design and develop technically complex software systems in the Advanced Programs baseline.

•Define sub-system architecture, perform detailed software design, generate design documentation, and provide software implementation and testing (to include developing unit tests).

•Work under general direction from senior team members to ensure product development is aligning with higher level program goals.

•Design, develop, maintain, and document software solution architectures ensuring traceability to the Enterprise architecture and Enterprise requirements.

•Conduct the analysis of user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing software systems.

•Develop proposed changes to the software solutions architecture design based on analysis of requirements and new technology.

•Create prototypes to evaluate new technologies.

•Provide design ideas for new capabilities or recommendations for improvements to existing capabilities.

•Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customer and changing business needs.

•Strong understanding of "best practice" software design and organization, plus good command in Assembly, C/C++.

Basic Qualifications:

•5+ years of experience developing and maintaining digital forensics capabilities; developing in C, C++, C#/.NET within Git version control system.

•BA or BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Or, related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Ability to reverse engineer undocumented file formats and file systems; develop new ways to recover residual data (file carving); and reverse engineer mobile phone operating systems and applications.

•Knowledge of memory forensics (such as Memory dumps, crash dumps, hibernation files); network forensics (PCAP, packet capture data); operating System artifacts (Android, iOS, Windows, Linux, macOS); web browser artifacts including Chrome, Firefox, IE, Edge, Safari; mobile application artifacts (WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram); data encoding techniques {Unicode, legacy codepages, base64).

•Understanding of encryption and XOR.

•M.A. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

•5-7+ years of related experience in Government/Industry technical projects.

•Strong understanding of critical data structures including partition tables, file systems, archives, email message stores, browser history/cache structures, documents, sqlite and other server-less database formats, system backups, and other proprietary data structures.

• C2S experience.

Security Clearance Requirements:

• TS/SCI with (the ability to obtain) a Full-scope Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

• Be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of time.

• Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets and office machinery.
