JOB SUMMARYThe Lead Cash Research Representative is responsible to research and resolve all unapplied cash, recoupments, refunds, audits and denials within department guidelines. Duties also encompass coordinating daily work assignments to staff, training staff, ensuring accurate and timely completion. Lead will also perform root cause analysis looking for trends and solutions of incoming work. Lead is also responsible for initiating and documenting new processes and automation to improve company results. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReconciles unmatched deposits to electronic remittance advices, credit card, paper explanation of benefits, and/or any tool for cash distribution within company best practicesResearches and resolves unapplied payments and denial of payments using internal sources, written communication, web sites and phone inquiries to determine appropriate accounts for payment application. Researches and applies unidentified/undistributed cash to the correct invoice line to ensure accurate account activity within best business practices. Processes denial of payments to correct invoice lines to expedite future collection and appeal activity within best business practices. Identifies payment discrepancies requiring notification, refund or recoupment to third party payers. Researches all refund requests and recoupments from payers to ensure within Contract and/or State Statues. Posts adjustments and recoveries to appropriate accounts as necessary based on company policies and procedures.This position requires the research and resolution of internal/external auditsCoordinates daily work assignments to staff ensuring accurate and timely completion.Provides training and coaching that are required for team member needs. Monitors participation to ensure training that was provided is being used and to assess additional training needs if necessary.Generates and analyzes reports to identify key opportunities in revenue management, in particular as it relates to cash, refund and denials.Modifies processes and promotes automation based on analysis findings to improve processing time and eliminate unnecessary tasks. Performs other duties as required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESConducts performance appraisals and makes recommendations on selection, promotion, merit increases and employee discipline. Schedules and organizes work assignments to appropriate personnel. Minimum Required QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education and/or ExperienceBachelor’s degree required.
