Red Team Engineer
CGI Federal's Enterprise Solutions Group (ESG) seeks a highly-motivated Red Team Engineer to join their Cyber Security team. Assess the state of the client organization's cybersecurity efforts from the perspective of an adversary with malicious intent targeting their people, processes, and technologies. Process cyber threat intelligence in accordance with the intelligence cycle. Build an understanding of the types of tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) these adversaries may employ that would be most damaging to the organization's security posture. Leverage the MITRE ATT&CK framework to develop threat models and methodologies in building operational engagement plans. Create test cases each individual TTP found in ATT&CK as well as custom and more advanced variants to assess the organization's coverage across a spectrum of intrusion sets and scenarios. Develop and use malware, pivoting, escalating privileges to test the organization's security effectiveness. Ensure that Red Team operations performed on production environments are done in a safe and responsible manner.
Your future duties and responsibilities
•Perform Red Teaming and System Assessment within Client Environments
•Lead and participate in aspects of Cyber Development and Operational Consultancy: Malware Assessment, Red Teaming, Penetration Testing, and Hunt Methods.
•Promote interdisciplinary solutions
•Collaborate with a team of Cyber Professionals in support of a unified Mission to uncover technical threats and protect critical networks
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent and 3+ years of professional experience in cyber security or related field
•Proven technical task management experience
•Technical knowledge or experience developing in house scripting, using interpreted languages such as Ruby, Python, or Perl, compiled languages such as C, C++, C#, or Java experience
•Experience within US Cyber Operational Groups, practicing: Red Teaming, Network Forensics, and general Cyber threat analysis
•3+ years of Information Security experience in cloud-based environments (Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) in both private and public (AWS, Azure) environments) and in one or more of the following verticals: network penetration testing, application penetration testing, Red Team operations, application security assessments, and network exploitation operations.
•Experience with technologies (i.e. Cobalt Strike, Metasploit, Kali, Commando, Shodan, Nessus, Nmap) commonly used in Red Teaming exercises
•Strong practical knowledge of common exploitation methodologies, system scanning, surveys, and network topology
•At least 1 of the following certifications: OSCP, OSCE, OSWE, GXPN, GPEN, GWAPT
•Intermediate understanding of Windows and Unix operating systems internals
•Ability to document and explain technical details clearly and concisely
•Experience reverse engineering COTS software, malware or hardware
•Experience in exploit development/weaponization
•Experience in malware packing, obfuscation, persistence, exfiltration techniques
•Understanding of many operating system internals from user land to kernel land
•Experience finding vulnerabilities that matter
•Experience with symbolic code execution
•Experience participating on a team using Scrum
•Experience using a version control system such as Git or Mercurial
•Experience providing, receiving and modifying code based on code reviews
•Experience transforming vulnerabilities into Red Teaming Tools
