Summary:Infintium Fuel Cell Systems, Inc. is developing next generation small and medium fuel cell systems in the Greenville, SC area. We are currently looking for a Controls Engineer who will actively collaborate with other system/process owners during all project phases, including design, commissioning, and service/maintenance, to deliver robust application software that meets all defined objectives. As a broad systems expert, the best candidate for this position will be able to apply their sound fundamental understanding of mechanical, electrical, and chemical systems in support of new-product and continuous-improvement projects. The Controls Engineer is also responsible for product documentation that clearly communicates operational procedures, expected system outputs and troubleshooting/diagnostics methods.As we are a small team, the candidate must be capable of setting and meeting goals reliably, with limited oversight. While the system hardware and software development environments are currently in place, the candidate will have the opportunity to guide future improvements in the system and ultimately has a significant influence on the company’s profitability.The company’s facility is located in the Greer, SC area near the GSP airport.Responsibilities/ Duties:This role at Infintium is expected to:Drive product application software developmentScope, propose, and meet software project tasks and timelinesProvide expert input during design stages that address the needs for robust system controlP&ID generationHardware/Component selectionSensor selection/placementFailure Analysis (DFMEA, HAZOP, etc.)Prepare documentation that clearly communicates and tracks the software design processControl Requirements SpecificationSystem Operability SpecificationProtection Matrix Software Validation ProceduresDevelop application software in embedded C (GCC) programming environment Generate Technical Product documentation related to the application softwareCommissioning/Startup proceduresOperating ManualsDiagnostic/Troubleshooting GuidesAssist in establishing and refining applied coding practicesGenerating Design Standards for commonality across product platforms using best practicesDeveloping standardized library functions for control software environmentImproving Configuration Management and software release methodology Assist in development of system models for simulation and model-based controlRequired Qualifications/ Experience:The applicant for this position must meet these requisites:B.S. in a STEM major (Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical Engineer preferred) with 3-5 years of application control development in high-reliability systems, such as those found in automotive/industrial/aerospace sectors Experience programming in embedded C language for real-time controlAbility to scope work and estimate required effort – time management skillsInterpersonal skills – customer interaction and effective small team memberDesired Knowledge / Skills:In addition, the ideal applicant also would meet the following:MS in Engineering discipline with emphasis in ControlsExpertise in developing dynamic models of multi-domain physical systems for HIL and/or SIL simulationExperience with model-based control development and application in real-time control systemsPowered by JazzHROGn8e0kY6R
