  • Perform test and evaluation (T&E) engineering analysis as a part of a multi-disciplinary team providing technical advisory and lead system integrator technical oversight to the government T&E division lead.
  • Apply knowledge of statistics, machine learning, programming, data modeling, simulation, and advanced mathematics to T&E activities and data collection resulting in a better understanding of prototypes, pilots, and final production system capabilities.
  • Use a flexible, analytical approach to design, develop, and evaluate predictive models and advanced algorithms that lead to optimal value extraction from the data. May generate and test hypotheses and analyze and interpret the results of product experiments. Serve as a key member on the data collection Algorithm/Software Working Group and other key Integrated Product Team/Working Groups, as required.
  • Support T&E engineering activities across a wide range of systems and missions. Support T&E activities related to software and fixed, mobile, and portable hardware solutions for trade and border security to include test planning, test execution, data management and test reporting.

  • Support system level test objectives development and assess/verify test performance.
  • Support system level test objectives development and assess/verify test performance.
  • Support field and data collection activities in the CBP operating environments including the southwest, maritime, and the northern U.S. which may entail one to two-week (or more) test event support in the field.
  • Participate in Technical Interchange Meetings to review development schedules and ensure alignment/integration with planned systems engineering and test activities.
  • Support the requirements development, traceability, and verification process and provide T&E technical advisory support to multi-disciplinary Integrated Product Teams/Working Groups.
  • Support design reviews to ensure programs meet specified milestone entrance/exit criteria and government-established top-level requirements. Support the technical review process and assess performance and work products.
  • Develop T&E-related inputs into high visibility and/or executive-level reports and briefings, program reviews, and requisite status reports.
  • As required, develop and review of Test and Evaluation Master Plans, Requirements Verification Traceability Matrices, Requirements Verification Plans, and Acceptance Test Plans.

Skills and Clearance Requirements:

  • A master’s degree with 10+ years relevant technical experience in T&E is required.
  • The candidate must possess a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end Systems Engineering Development Life Cycle and how it fits into the Acquisition Life Cycle. DHS or DoD Systems Engineering Certifications desired.
  • Requires a detail-oriented self-starter experienced in supporting senior Government leaders and other technical/business professionals.
  • Superior customer interface skills with senior levels of management and excellent oral and written communication skills are critical.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project and SharePoint are required. Technical writing experience is highly desired.
  • A current Customs and Border Protection Background Investigation is required.
  • A Secret or higher-level clearance and a favorable background investigation conducted within the last five years are highly desired.
