Description

SAIC is seeking an experienced professional to join the National Security & Space (NSS) Sector.  NSS provides specialized program management, engineering, analysis and operations support to a variety of Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. We support the generation after next of national security-related systems based in space, in the air and on the ground. 

NSS has an opening for a Program Management Office (PMO) Training Lead in Ground Software Operations to provide systems engineering and technical advisory services to a rapidly expanding Government Intelligence Community (IC) customer. The customer is developing next-generation of space and ground systems architectures, hardware and software solutions.

 

SAIC is hiring a Systems Engineer as a key point of contact for defining and coordinating the training program of new ground processing systems for on-orbit space systems and services to customers in space operations centers. The Training Lead will support customers in ongoing initiatives by using their space and ground systems experience to develop user training curriculums and help mission partners set up their training program. The Training Lead will also coordinate system demonstrations and participation in exercises to utilize the system capabilities and refine concepts of operations to maximize benefits to the mission. The duties and responsibilities as the Training Lead will include:

  • Inform and coordinate trainers and users on the mission, tactics and procedures for performing their mission to include software application capabilities and plans
  • Understand our customer needs, as it relates to the mission area, and help communicate with our developers and customers to train users and developers to satisfy those needs
  • Coordinate with users, mission partners and developers to understand system capabilities
  • Provide feedback to developers for discrepancies and change requests for future needs
  • Coordinate participation in realistic exercises to utilize the software tool capabilities and develop concepts of operations throughout the exercises
  • Coordinate on the development of the training curriculum, create targeted training plans, and help our users stand up their own training shops and programs
  • Coordinate the execution of training, demonstrations, and exercises based on the organizational strategy
  • Participate in and coordinate new programs with ground and space tests, demonstrations, and exercises

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph prior to the start date
  • BS degree in engineering related discipline
  • 9+ years’ experience in space and engineering-related fields; additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • Engineering and technical background in satellite vehicle or payload operations, ground processing, on-orbit activities and/or space modeling and simulation
  • Strong verbal and written skills

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with our Intelligence Community customer’s directorates and offices and their missions
  • Knowledge of orbital mechanics/dynamics and use of analytical tools (such as STK)
  • Experience in developing training curriculums for technical software tools
  • Experience in participating in DoD space exercises
  • Experience in space operations, specifically in space control or space situation awareness
