Title:

Training Systems Manager

Role Context:

KBR has been awarded a support contract by the UK Ministry of Defence (UK MOD). Under the terms of the contract, KBR will provide communications network support and deliver training services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is a significant project that expands our portfolio of work with the UK MOD and in the Middle East.

Under the contract, KBR is seeking to recruit staff to deliver:?

• Support in delivering IP Telephony, host applications such as Network Management System, Cable Management Systems and incident management software?

• Operation of Service Desks

• Support to maintain operational capability of Fixed & Deployable equipment/capabilities.?

• Design & deliver a new Management Information System

• Technical & English Language Training

• Built Estate maintenance and upkeep

This job is specific to Catalyst. Consults with management and supervisory personnel to identify specific training needs based on project processes, changes, and other factors. Formulates training policies and schedules, utilizing knowledge of identified training needs. Under general supervision, solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices. Uses experience and problem solving skills to develop and improve processes. May provide guidance to less experienced team members. Skills required for this job are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree and 5+ years of experience.

Core Responsibilities and Duties

General:

To maintain the Management of Training System (MTS) within the departmental areas of Training Design & Development and Quality Assurance & Support. To continually improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the analysis, design, delivery, evaluation and quality of training, compliant with the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) and BS EN ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems. Specific:

  • Manage the two departmental areas of Training Design & Development and Quality Assurance & Support
  • Ensure KBR training products and services meet set standards in accordance with the Defence Systems Approach to Training Quality Management Standard (DSAT QMS) and BS EN ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems;
  • Develop the strategic approach to training design and development within the school in conjunction with the Deputy Head of Training Services and UK MoD
  • Develop the strategic approach to quality assurance within the school in conjunction with the Deputy Head of Training Services and UK MoD
  • Manage the production and maintenance of both the TQM and QIP in accordance with contractual obligations
  • Oversee a programme of continuous course review and improvement compliant with the DSAT QMS
  • Oversee the Training Quality Management System
  • Enhance professional development by providing a range of learning and development opportunities that are available to departmental staff
  • Ensure staff management procedures are carried out in accordance with Company directives

Reporting

  • Deliver management reporting for all training development and quality activity delivery in a variety of formats as directed (weekly, monthly)
  • Deliver statistical reports on performance and compliance with any need for improvement to

facilitate the contractual requirements of the SofS

  • Provide other ad-hoc reports as required by either HoTS or DHoTS

Office Administration

  • Ensure department procedures are carried out in accordance with Company directives
  • Maintain an efficient prioritised electronic filing system
  • General office administration duties
  • Maintain all documentation in line with local Data Protection guidelines

Other duties as required by the Deputy Head of Training Services

  • Advise all stakeholders within the Telecommunications School about training delivery, design and assurance procedures and how they contribute to achieving transformation objectives and assist long-term planning and change management
  • Manage a programme of continuous course review and improvement compliant with the DSAT QMS
  • Manage training and quality data in order to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Manage professional development by providing a range of learning and development opportunities that are available to staff
  • Ensure staff management procedures are carried out in accordance with Company directives

  • Qualifications, Experience and Skills
  • Qualifications : Essential:
  • Training & Development or Education qualification at Level 6 or above
  • Desirable:
  • Hold membership of a relevant professional body
  • Experience and Skills: Essential:
  • At least 5 years’ training analysis, design and development or quality assurance experience
  • At least 5 years’ training management experience
  • Experience with Technology Enhanced Learning
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of the implementation of Systems Approach to Training (DSAT or international equivalent system, compliant with BS EN ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems)
  • Provide evidence of having analysed, designed and developed successful training interventions or improved training quality appropriately
  • Provide experience of staff management and performance development and reporting
  • Provide evidence of the preparation of concise management reports and presentations in English
  • Skilled in the use of MS Office software Word, Excel, Access and Project
  • Be fluent in Speaking, Reading, Writing and Listening in the English Language
  • Hold a valid driving license from country of origin
  • Desirable:
  • Familiarity with military telecommunications would be an advantage
  • Familiarity with managing within a military training establishment would be an advantage
  • Have knowledge and understanding of the cultural aspects of life in Saudi Arabia
