Electronic Cooling Solutions Inc (ECS), head quartered in Silicon Valley, near San Francisco, California, is seeking a thermal engineer with a minimum of 3 years of experience doing thermal design, thermal modeling and experimental work in the electronics industry.Experience with FloTHERM, FloTHERM XT, and or Icepak CFD modeling tools is required. Experience using ANSYS FEA is a plus. The successful candidate must have experience working on system design, have an understanding of component requirements, and be able to provide thermal design guidance to a mechanical engineering team in order to ensure that all of the product thermal design requirements are met.Experience selecting and or specifying fans, heat sinks, cold plates thermal interface materials and other thermal components and an ability to communicate with thermal product vendors is desired. The successful candidate should also possess good writing and communication skills as this position involves a lot of interaction with our clients. The successful candidate will be managing relationships with customers on both long term and short-term projects. Therefore, project management skills and ability to budget time are essential. ECS is a consulting company that specializes in thermal management services. Cooling of electronics is an important issue in the electronics industry. In many instances it is a gating obstacle to the successful deployment of new technologies and products. Our customers include Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Xilinx, Cisco Systems, HP, Lumentum, ChargePoint, Cruise LLC, Roche, NVidia, and other large companies. We also work closely with a number of smaller companies as well as several mechanical design firms. We help to design products for the aerospace and avionics sector, datacom market place, telecommunications, medical applications, and consumer electronics. We are working on problems ranging from IC packages thermal and thermal stress issues to datacenter cooling. We have a thermal test laboratory in our facility and have a broad range of test capabilities related to thermal management. Our laboratory is an important resource that enables our company to validate our simulation work and to determine if customer prototypes will meet the thermal design goals that have been set.
