Title:

Missile Defense Systems Engineer

KBR is poised to support Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) Missile Defense Systems (MDS) Engineering activities via the MDA Technical, Engineering, Advisory, & Management Support (TEAMS) Next contract.

KBR is looking for technically superior engineers to take on challenging and rewarding systems engineering assignments across the Missile Defense Agency. These positions are contingent on KBR being awarded the MDA TEAMS Next MDS Engineering contract which has an anticipated award date of 18 June 2021.

Duties and Responsibilities

Executing extensive systems engineering/scientific support on MDA systems, MDS elements, interfacing systems, components, devices, and/or processes for complex developmental and operational weapon system programs

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors in a STEM field
  • Experience: 3+ years working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD programs/projects
  • Experience applying engineering rigor to analyze and resolve problems for DoD weapon systems
  • Experience in at least one of the following:
  • Developing, defining, documenting, and executing weapon systems engineering approaches, plans, requirements, traceability, integration, test, verification and validation, procedures, and activities
  • Development of weapon system test certification packages covering risk analysis and risk handling, BDR closure status, configuration audits, and engineering authority signature
  • Weapon system engineering safety processes and activities
  • Identification of cyber threats and vulnerabilities; reduction of attack opportunities, likelihood, impact, and severity; improvement of defensive cyber operations; and strengthening of cyber capabilities for DoD weapon systems
  • Proven ability to work with and brief senior government staff
  • Secret Clearance
  • Ability to travel as required by the customer
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Systems engineering support to the development and integration of the MDS elements (e.g., THAAD, GMD, C2BMC, Sensors)
  • MDA systems engineering and board approval processes
  • Development of MDA flight and ground test certification packages covering risk analysis and risk handling, BDR closure status, configuration audits, and engineering authority signature
  • MDA engineering safety processes and activities
  • Developing, defining, documenting, and executing MDA systems engineering approaches, plans, requirements, traceability, integration, test, verification and validation, procedures, and activities
  • Developing, updating, and maintaining models and simulations for MDA elements, and targets/countermeasures
  • Ability to identify cyber threats and vulnerabilities; reduce attack opportunities, likelihood, impact, and severity; improve defensive cyber operations; and strengthen cyber capabilities for MDS elements
  • Planning, analyzing, and systems engineering for MDA international programs and FMS cases
  • U.S. missile defense strategy and policy
  • A demonstrated understanding of U.S. missile defense strategy and policy
  • INCOSE Systems Engineering Certification or DAU Engineering Certification
  • Top Secret Clearance
