Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Lead Software Engineer to join our team in Ft. Meade, Md.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited:

  • Develops, maintains, and enhances complex software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems).

  • Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results

  • Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of COTS/GOTS in place of new development

  • Analyzes user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements 

  • Designs and codes new software or modifies existing software to add new features 

  • Integrates existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments 

  • Develops simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories 

  • Makes recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards 

  • Develops software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, conferring with users or system engineers; analyzing systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigating problem areas 

  • Modifies existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance 

  • Oversees one or more software development teams and ensures the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any project.

  • Writes or reviews software and system documentation 

  • Debugs existing software and corrects defects 

  • Works individually and as part of a team

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university 

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience 

  • In lieu of a college degree, a HS diploma/GED plus 14 years of software engineering experience is acceptable

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have an active TS/SCI and Polygraph

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%, capable of operating a computer and other office productivity machinery, and frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers
