We are currently seeking mechanics for our locations throughout Southern California.

Position Summary: Under limited supervision, performs work of considerable difficulty in the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment; performs related work as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Must have own tools for both truck maintenance and precision tools for engine rebuild.
Will perform major and minor engine repairs and accessories.
Minor manual and automatic transmission and differential repairs.
R & R of hydraulic components air and hydraulic brake systems.
Major and minor electrical repairs.
General Vehicle preventive maintenance.
Follow safety rules and keep work area clean.
Will respond to road call and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have experience with Detroit, International, Cummins, Caterpillar, Volvo, CNG/ LNG and/ or diesel engines.
Able to troubleshoot, diagnose, engine, hydraulic system, and transmission problems systematically and accurately.
Capable of identifying parts needed for repairs.
Must have ability to work with minimal direction.
Must possess a California Driver's License.
Working knowledge of:
-Mechanical design and fabrication.
-Electrical systems, including computerized induction/ignition systems.
Skilled in:
-Use of power and hand tools.
-Use of diagnostic equipment.
-Acetylene and electric arc welding.
-Operation of vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
Ability to:
-Diagnose problems and make repairs in the field.
-Prepare and maintain records and reports.
-Follow written and verbal instructions, including manufacturers' service specifications.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Within the last 10 years, five years' experience on heavy duty diesel, CNG/ LNG truck repair and equipment maintenance.

PHYSICAL:
Must be able to perform heavy lifting up to 75lbs.
Must have the ability to intermittently stand, bend, squat and kneel.
Work overhead and underneath equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Will be exposed to outdoor weather heat, cold, rain, wind.
Will be exposed to moderate levels of noise and dust.
