Setting new standards for industrial process automation solutions in the metropolitan New York City tristate area, Control Associates, Inc. is a premier provider of process automation systems, valves, measurement, pressure management, asset reliability and data management solutions. We are looking to hire a Reliability Specialist to work out of our office in Allendale, NJ.

Established in 1933, Control Associates along with its global process automation business partner, Emerson, specializes in supporting the process control equipment and service needs of the following industries: Air Separation, Biotech, Chemical, Food & Beverage, HVAC, Hydrocarbon Processing, Natural Gas Distribution & Transmission, Oil Refining Pharmaceutical, Power Generation, Pulp & Paper, Water & Wastewater Treatment.

Prerequisites: Bachelors of Science degree preferably in mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering. Five or more years of outside sales experience focused on mechanical product sales is preferred. Knowledge of industries serviced by Control Associates such as power, natural gas, pharmaceutical, chemical, and food and beverage is strongly preferred. PC literate including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite applications is required; familiarity with CRM software strongly preferred. Excellent communication, organization and time management skills. Ability to work independently and to set and meet deadlines. S/he will interact regularly with customers and co-workers, thus strong interpersonal skills and the ability to be a clear communicator is required. Ability to travel as needed is required. Valid Driver License is required.

Normal Working Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00PM with the ability to work a flexible schedule of evenings and weekends as needed.


Work with strategic account teams to develop and execute strategies to improve customer business results through the implementation of Control Associates' entire Reliability portfolio.

Create and manage route-based vibration programs and lubrication monitoring programs for customer sites.

Manage sales, technical and engineering support for target and focus accounts.

Assess customer corrective maintenance practices and make recommendations for improvement. Provide technical expertise that supports proactive problem detection and recommend corrective actions.

Provide basic customer training on proper maintenance practices, and the balancing and aligning of rotating equipment.

Engage in team sales efforts of all Control Associates products and services for target and focus accounts.

Become technically and commercially proficient in the sales and service of Predictive, Proactive and Preventative Maintenance Programs, Condition Monitoring, Vibration Analysis, Lubrication Ultrasonic, Infrared Thermography and other related products lines that comprise Control Associates Reliability portfolio.

Set appointments and agendas for customer meetings to conduct plant site reviews and walk downs in order to identify opportunities.

Work with sales management and principals to keep territory & customer business plans up to date and evergreen, and to develop and drive sales initiatives. Provide territory, market, and customer data to principals as requested in a timely manner.

Develop and implement account plans for target key accounts.

Track and update project and services opportunities.

Follow up and document current status of all open quotations.

Review customer purchase orders as required for compliance to our quotation and communicate and resolve any discrepancies between the purchase order and the quotation with the customer as required.

Internally communicate customer satisfaction issues as required.

Organize, coordinate and support customer seminars.

Prepare and update sales forecasts as required.

Assist in collecting funds for delinquent accounts.

Attend training for self-improvement and growth.

Other responsibilities as assigned.
