Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Chemical Demilitarization Engineer to join our team in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.   

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • The Chemical Demilitarization Engineer shall review chemical demilitarization engineering processes.
  • Conduct process improvement studies, recommend best practices, review engineering methodologies and materials, conduct quality assurance reviews, and analyze test methodology and strategies to assess and study chemical agent destruction processes and technologies.
  • Research and apply established techniques and methods to determine the effects of Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) on materiel systems as is required for input into the OneSAF modeling environment.
  • Characterize the nature of the EMP event based on physical factors and proximity of systems under study to the detonation and then research the effects of the EMP exposure on the study systems.
  • Provide summary reports documenting all work performed, progress achieved, recommendations related to data generation, assessment or utility.
  • May also be requested to summarize progress/findings in a briefing summary for presentation to JPEO using DAC template.
  • Provide the results of his/her work in various formats to include report sections, briefing slides and spreadsheets.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Physics or Mathematics AND at least one (1) year of experience analyzing operations of chemical demilitarization processing equipment and chemical agent destruction chemistry
  • Experience producing high-quality written documents and briefings
  • Experience presenting technical material to technical audiences and to high-level decision-makers.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • DOD Secret Clearance required

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
