Supervisor, Procurement

Under general direction, the Supervisor, Procurement directs the daily activities of a business, technical support, or functional support team. The incumbent establishes priorities for the completion of assigned tasks. The incumbent uses judgment to interpret internal and external issues and develop best practices. May direct resources prioritize tasks and provide guidance to less experienced team members. They rely upon experience, interpersonal skills, and broad knowledge of field to ensure task completion in compliance with policies, procedures, and business strategy.

This position will perform work out of an office location in Newark, DE.

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, work may be performed in a 100% remote capacity. Once the COVID-19 Pandemic guidelines for social distancing have been reduced, work may be required to be performed up to full time in the office, with Flex Work and continuing remote work options available, pending client, project and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiates favorable terms, and discounts with suppliers for the procurement of goods, services and supplies.
  • Takes responsibility for purchases in support of capital projects.
  • Accountable for delivery of savings and working capital targets as assigned for capital projects
  • Discusses defects and delivery problems with suppliers and is responsible for negotiating refunds.
  • Coordinates with operations, maintenance, warehouse and engineering to ensure proper scheduling and movement of goods and supplies.
  • Develops relationships with senior executives from key suppliers.
  • Operates as single focal point for all procurement activities on assigned capital projects, providing insight on spend, alignment on procurement activities, and helping procurement team to fully understand the unique project requirements.
  • Champions, coaches the procurement team and is a continuous learner on the client project preferences and KBR procurement work methods and category management, engaging low cost country suppliers, risk mitigation and supplier performance management.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or related experience
  • 7+ years of experience in Procurement
  • Effective negotiation and team building skills
  • Strong organization and management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communications & ability to collaborate.
  • Proficient in use of MS office
  • Experience and skill with SAP or other procurement tools preferred
  • Proficient in development and adherence to procurement procedures and plans
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to engage across sites remotely
  • Ability to multi-task and provide support to multiple clients on a daily basis
  • Ability to lead multiple projects/tasks and drive projects to completion with strong operability to support reliable, high-quality production.
