L.A. Gauge has grown rapidly over the last few years and continues to grow today. We are looking for someone confident and capable of juggling diverse activities in support of purchasing, supply chain, account management, engineering, quality and production control departments – Would that be you? You would have a sharp eye for detail, ensuring timely and accurate collection of information and the responsibility of inputting and updating that information into the company systems and documentation our production teams work off of. Your ability to clearly and effectively communicate internally with all of our various departments regarding requests for quotes (RFQ’s), customer purchase orders (PO’s) and internal manufacturing planning is critical.Job Functions:Quoting and purchasing in the following categories:Raw Material (Forgings, Castings, Billets, Extrusions)Outside Processing (Heat treat, Plating, Painting, NDI and NDT)Vendor management: follow-up with vendors on slipped commitments and in special expedite situationsResolve accounting discrepancies related to vendor invoicingLiaise between suppliers and quality, engineering and production control departmentsAssist estimating with pricing and quotes when neededOrganize shipments/transportation of partsExcellent follow-through with minimal supervisionStrategic development of all aspects of the vendor management. This includes sourcing, qualifying, negotiating, contracting and managing for quality, delivery and price.Oversee all purchasing requisitions and operationsAuthority over inventory control (raw material, components stores and finished goods)Ensure the logistical flow of materials necessary to meet production schedules, inventory control requirements, and ongoing material line support.Maintain excellent communication lines with internal (e.g. operations dept.) and external (suppliers, stakeholders)Fully proficient using ERP systems (EPICOR) and ExcelLeads cost reduction efforts across the supply basePartners with customers and suppliers to understand needs and issues and ensure the business’ customers receive satisfactory standards of goods and servicesMust be comfortable in a fast-paced environmentComplete assorted compliance forms and customer surveys throughout the yearAdditional Job Requirements:COMMUNICATIONMust excel in the ability to communicate using all forms of communication. Must possess a strong ability to speak and write on technical and business issues on a routine basis conveying a positive image for the company. Must be capable of gathering and presenting information to groups of employees, subcontractors, and customers. Must be able extremely organized and clearly communicate with management, supervisors, and peers. Must have strong skills in communicating through email, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Docs for Work (Docs, Sheets, Slides), and Adobe Acrobat. Communication must be clear, concise, professional, and timely.PROACTIVE APPROACHThis position requires the individual be a self-starter, displaying initiative and seldom requiring direct supervision. Must have ability and experience managing multiple tasks and proactively communicating progress against agreed upon deadlines. Monitor and continuously improve the process that our vendors provide. Manage constant cost reductions within the purchasing department through development and joint venture projects. COLLABORATIONMust have ability to work collaboratively with all L.A.
