Trinity Industries is hiring a Market Strategist for our Dallas, Texas office. The Market Strategist will be responsible for formulating and executing an integrated strategy for TrinityRail’s products and services in designated commodity markets. This role requires collection and analysis of a wide array of key inputs from across TrinityRail, and development of a strategy that encompasses product development, marketing/branding, fleet acquisitions and divestures, and pricing strategies. Experience working seamlessly across multiple organizations, directing cross-functional teams, and providing actionable insight to senior decision makers is essential. The Market Strategist will work closely with sales, marketing, and portfolio management to research, collect, and analyze market and industry data, including economic factors, market trends, commodity forecasts, competitive analysis, and overall railcar supply and demand dynamics.What you’ll do:Establish baselines for TrinityRail’s fleet and its performance within designated commodity marketsCraft outlook for designated commodity markets and anticipates change in key industry metricsIdentify areas of growth or potential threats within the designated commodity marketsSet targets for railcar fleet performanceCompose and drive action around a strategy for how the fleet will achieve designated targetsWork closely with and manage cross-functional teams to deliver a product that aligns with this vision and meets market needsContribute to product development business case composition and direct product development project prioritization; participate in new product go-to-market strategy and launch Direct marketing in developing and maintaining messaging/collateral/training to drive differentiation in the marketEstablish strategy-informed pricing recommendations and strategiesAssess performance:Track inquiries, orders, revenue, profitability and customer feedbackAnalyze and make adjustments to market strategies where neededWhat you’ll need:B.A. in business, marketing, or related fields required3+ years of experience in B2B marketing, industrial product management, manufacturing strategy, or related fieldsSkilled at effectively informing and influencing cross functional teams Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience communicating effectively with others in management, engineering, supply chain, quality, production, and marketingProven analytic, research, and strategic thinking skillsEnjoys synthesizing large amounts of information and rapidly formulating an opinion or strategy for excellence in a dynamic marketCompetitive, creative, high initiative, drive to succeed in spite of obstacles or workloadAbility to balance strategic thinking with tactical implementation and execution
