They are a core part of building and maintaining an efficient and sound accounting ecosystem.They are primarily responsible for maintaining the general ledger and related supporting schedules, assisting in month end close, preparing adjusting journal entries, performing monthly account reconciliations, owning the payroll function, calculating and remitting commissions, and working closely with the People and Operations teams on all HR/Accounting matters.The Senior Accountant will drive process improvements in all accounting areas. They are to help analyze data to support business decision-making, manage financial reporting, budget, and forecasting.This role can also be based out of our San Ramon, CA office.What You'll DoCollaborate with the sales and fulfillment department to ensure customers are set up in the system correctly, invoice customers, and apply payments received in a timely mannerReconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenanceProcess AP transactions in accounting systemsInput and ensure invoices are entered into the system and revenue is being recorded correctlySet up new employees in the accounting system and process payroll for employeesReview all expense reports, reconcile credit card activity, and optimize processPrepare month-end and quarterly journal entries related to revenue, fixed assets, leases, prepaids and accruals with adequate support / documentationAssist the Controller with weekly cash forecasting itemsAssist in the creation of accounting policies, improved processes and financial controlsAssist with budget to actual tracking and communication with other functionsParticipate in onboarding new payroll and benefits systemCollaborate with FP&A to ensure a complete and accurate month-end closePrepare sales tax returns in several states, pay taxes and record transactions in ERP systemPrepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for month-end closing for various accountsParticipate in cross-functional Continuous Improvement projectsWhat You'll NeedBA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance required3-5 years of experience in accounting related rolesCPA and public accounting experience, strongly preferredTechnology and SaaS industry experience, strongly preferred2-5+ years of hands on, full-cycle Accounting experienceIndustry experience in start-ups, technology, software, SaaS & Big Four/public accounting is highly preferredRecent hands-on experience with routine accounting tasks such as payables, invoicing, collections, payroll, cash management, etc.Has worked with Revenue RecognitionHas experience with monthly close procedures, monthly and quarterly financial reportingHave worked in small to mid-sized company environment with the ability to multi-task and wear several hatsEven if you don’t have every skill we’re looking for, we encourage you to still apply.
