Position SummaryThe Sales Tax Specialist is responsible for assisting with various aspects of multi-state sales and use tax, property tax and business license processes to ensure the Company is in compliance with state tax regulations.Essential FunctionsMay perform any or all of the following duties:Assists with the accurate preparation and timely filing of all of the Company’s Hospitality and B&O returns Assists with the reconciliation of various tax liability accountsAssists with Business License returns and paymentsAssists in the fixed asset process by assessing use tax if appropriate and categorizing the Company’s fixed assets to conform to general personal property tax classificationsPrepares and scans high volume of hard copies of all check requests, statements and electronic tax payments into E-Flow databaseProcesses payments online or by mail once management approval is receivedPrepares Unclaimed Property Reports for assigned statesUtilizes E-Flow to research and query invoice details, documenting all activity in systemOther duties and/or special projects as assigned in response to changing business conditions and/or requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, preferredApproximately one (1) to three (3) years or any combination of experience and/or education, that demonstrates a commanding knowledge in accounting, sales, use and/or other transaction type taxes in a multi-state organizationUnderstanding of applicable sales and use, and property tax laws in multiple jurisdictionsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (with an expertise in Excel; Vlookups, filtering and pivot tables) and GoogleStrong researching skills; internet navigation (state/governmental websites)Ability to adhere to inflexible deadlines for tax reportingExcellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management both internally and externallyStrong work ethic; commitment to seeing duties completed at a high standard of qualityWORK ENVIRONMENTCorporate Office fast paced, high volume of activity and deadline driven environmentPHYSICAL DEMANDSConstant interaction with internal and external partners by phone and/or electronic communicationsSitting for extended periods of time, using telephone, typing and/or operating a computer and/or mouseTHE COMPANY RETAINS THE RIGHT TO CHANGE OR ASSIGN OTHER DUTIES TO THIS POSITION AS DEEMED APPROPRIATE WITH OR WITHOUT NOTICE
