BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITIONThe National Accounts Business Development Manager is responsible for taking the lead role in expanding Kubota’s National Accounts and other non-traditional channels of business; to include, but not limited to, large private purchasers, utility companies and large rental accounts. The Business Development Manager will thoroughly understand the business/consumer/customer needs, attitudes, and requirements to compete effectively in the marketplace. In addition, the Manager will understand the goals and objectives of Kubota Tractor Corporation to develop effective business strategies to gain a competitive advantage, with qualifications to take the initiative on issues to increase account base growth, market share and ultimately unit volume. The National Accounts Business Development Manager will challenge all of the sales related managers to perform at a high level of sales and customer satisfaction and will delegate the management of specific accounts (2-10 each) to the Account Managers.PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures and guidelines:Develops business strategy for National Accounts optimizing business opportunities consistent with the business goals and objectives of Kubota.Responsible for development, negotiating, preparation and presentation of national contracts to Executive Management.Responsible for developing National Account forecast, budgets, policies, procedures and discount structures required to be competitive in the industry.Remain knowledgeable of current trends, new entries, technologies and competitive conditions affecting national accounts to ensure Kubota capitalizes on appropriate business opportunities.Contacts and establishes business relationships with current and potential customer groups to determine business opportunities, including, but not limited to, industry leaders, trade organizations, governmental agencies, military groups, rental organizations and other non-traditional business channels.Responsible for determining external business requirements for National Accounts and integrating with Kubota internal business structure and business priorities. Responsible to communicate business impact with appropriate internal personnel.Define, establish and implement proper tracking tools and measurement indicators to evaluate actual performance against planned objectives.Attends, participates and acts as the principal company representative in key communities & business development councils & groups (including strategic partnerships).MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND TRAINING:Bachelor’s Degree (Advanced degree preferred)5+ years’ experience in marketing and/or salesConstruction Equipment sales experience a plusNational Accounts and Governmental business experience a plusDemonstrated track record of achievement in all previous positionsRecord of achieving results in teams and through othersCustomer and Consumer Acumen- Builds and applies knowledge of consumer and customer needs to develop and implement action plans to grow the business.Strategic Planning- Observes emerging situations in the marketplace, in competitive businesses or in other industries, that have significant underlying dimensions, which if properly addressed, would give way to new sources of business or new operating principles that could be leveraged for competitive advantage.Influencing and Negotiating- Presents ideas and suggestions in ways that gain commitment and cooperation of others.
