Upperline Health is based out of Nashville, TN and has clinics in 6 states.Upperline is looking for a Medical Chart Auditor to support our team of clinicians in delivering complex health services by reviewing and evaluating physician documentation of diagnosis and coding for all services rendered to ensure accuracy and compliance with all coding and billing guidelines and regulatory requirements. About The Medical Chart AuditorThe Chart Auditor is a critical team member for Upperline as we continue to grow rapidly throughout the U.S. The Revenue Cycle department is expanding due to growth and is the fastest growing area of our company. To be successful at this role, you will need to be an outstanding communicator and team player who demonstrates strong attention to detail and thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will have prior medical coding experience, knowledge of coding and billing guidelines, experience auditing medical charts and the ability to confidently communicate with medical providers. This position is located in Nashville, TN.ResponsibilitiesOf The Medical Chart AuditorRegularly review consistent metrics, identify and correct errors in documentation for a high volume of physician’s charts in the EMR Ensure all codes and documentation are completed accurately to optimize reimbursement Utilize grading rubric of defined metrics in conducting thorough assessment chart documentationPrepare and present reports of audit findings to Chief Medical Officer, Revenue Cycle Director and appropriate stakeholdersConfidently communicate with medical providers as well as senior managementAssist in developing corrective action plans for non-compliant physiciansProvide detailed documentation and provide direct education to providers and staff for required adherence to internal compliance metrics and regulatory guidelinesEffectively communicate reasons behind insufficient results to individual physicians Provide appropriate training for physicians and staff in an effort to eliminate future errors and maintain compliance Review potential groups to assess relative coding and compliance risk Create checklists and review and aggregate pre-acquisition data, which includes charts received in various formatsPrescreen high risk compliance items and notes prior to claims being createdQualificationsOf The Medical Chart AuditorMedical coding experience is required, CPC is strongly preferredOrthopedic and/or podiatric coding experience is helpful Previous chart auditing experience is highly preferredStrong understanding of compliance, audits and best practices in codingExperience working in EMR systems, Athena EMR is preferredDemonstrated ability as a consistent, patient and effective communicator to educate in an informational, influential, concise, and personable mannerExcellent written communication skills with success providing written documentation via computer systemsAbility to accurately and efficiently analyze a high volume of medical informationWorking knowledge of resources to utilize Self-motivated with a superior attention to detailValues the accuracy and urgency that is critical to chart auditing in relation to compliance, RCM and the company Bachelor’s Degree is preferredPowered by JazzHRXpXwCWBBle
