Temporary Construction Manager

KBR is seeking a Temporary Construction Manager to oversee field construction contractors as a KBRwyle/government project representative.

This is a temporary assignment for 8 – 10 months

The Construction Manager is responsible for the oversight of all construction efforts at a large project site. The Construction Manager will have limited supervision and general direction and will independently apply advanced techniques to complex assignments. Reports to a Department head.

  • Coordinates and monitors the scheduling, pricing, and technical performance of company programs.
  • Aiding in the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes and coordinating preparations of proposals, plans, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts.
  • Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules, develops solutions to program problems,
  • Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Well-rounded CM fully familiar with Electrical, Mechanical Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Architectural Disciplines.
  • Acts as advisor to program team regarding projects, tasks, and operations.

Typical Duties:

  • Assisting with Coordinating construction bidding process with procurement
  • Helping with Conduction of pre-bid meeting
  • Aiding reviewing of construction bids
  • Assisting with contract award
  • Conducting pre-construction meeting
  • Review, negotiation, and approval of construction documents
  • Conducting quality inspections
  • Enforcing safety and security requirements
  • Providing daily progress reports,
  • Setting up Weekly progress meeting with site / KBR/ Client, and providing meeting minutes
  • Coordinating outages and activities
  • Resolving field issues, reviewing RFI’s
  • Reviewing Submittals, prior to sending to Engineers.
  • Maintaining liaison with other engineering disciplines
  • Control of cost and schedule growth
  • Tracking and reporting status
  • Processing invoices
  • Processing construction closeout, substantial completion forms, and final closeout forms.
  • Coordinating as-built documentation

Required Education, Experience, & Skills :

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 10 + years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to perform a variety of complex tasks.
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Be able to climb ladders and stairs and be in good physical shape
  • Requires a level of oversight and understanding of construction practices, and most importantly the view of construction from a systems perspective.
