Financial Program Controls Analyst

We are currently seeking a dynamic, skilled, and adaptable Financial Program Controls Analyst who will work directly with the COO and Controller in supporting the financial operations, analysis, reporting, monitoring data, plans, and forecasts.
**This role is currently remote. However, the role will eventually move to Hybrid Schedule (part In-Office in McLean and part telework), when safe to do so. Candidates should be local or willing to relocate.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results against plans and forecasts.
Guides cost analysis processes by helping to establish and enforce policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions.
Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.
Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data.
Maintains database by entering, verifying, and backing up data.
Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods.
Aide in the development of new labor and overhead rates, budget, and forecasts.
Maintain spreadsheets and databases in Microsoft Excel or other tools as needed.
Other special projects as assigned by Chief Operating Officer.
Experience and Technical Qualifications:
BachelorÃ?Â???Ã?Â???Ã?Â???Ã?Â??Ã?Â?Ã?Â´s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline
Minimum 2-3 years of Project Analyst, Project Accounting or Accounting experience preferred
Preferred 2 years' experience with Federal Government contract accounting
Experience within government contracting environment with multiple contract (including T&M, FFP, CPFF)
Minimum of 2 years' experience with Unanet, Deltek GCS/Costpoint, or other standard Accounting Systems required
Strong fluency with Intermediate to Advanced Excel formulas and functions required
Proficiency in MS Office Suite
High proficiency in financial modeling techniques
Strong analytical and data gathering skills
Good business acumen
Assists Accounts Receivables/Payables functions
Reconcile Accounts monthly and prepare any required General Ledger journal entries
Keep chart of accounts and customer/vendor lists accurate and up-to-date
Maintain accounting and financial records
