Project Manager

KBR is looking for a Project Manager (PM) to join our team for an exciting opportunity supporting the readiness and sustainment of fighter aircraft systems. This is a full-time position located in the KBR Warner Robins, GA office.

The candidate will provide project oversight with specific responsibilities associated with aircraft sustainment and modernization projects at the component, assembly, LRU or SRU level. The PM will be responsible for multiple projects addressing reliability, sustainment, DMSMS issues, obsolescence, reverse engineering, and redesign. Establishes and defines project plan requirements and directs or performs in-depth studies to determine optimum project plans. Coordinates interdepartmental development of project plans. Interfaces with vendors and customers and performs extensive investigations as required. Monitors and reports performance against plans to ensure that contractual, cost and schedule objectives are met; arranges modifications as required.

Many projects will involve establishing System Requirements, Design, Prototype Development, Qualification Testing (ground and flight) and integration. Projects may include insuring Airworthiness, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Condition Based Maintenance (CBM+), Avionics and future sustainability and repair capabilities are integrated into the products.


Minimum requirements for the position:

Bachelor of Science Degree with 10 years of related experience and a minimum of 3 years of Project Management or IPT Leader experience

Technical program planning and implementation, contract interpretation, budget development and administration of government projects.

Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Aircraft Avionics systems and projects

Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems and innovate solutions

Strong verbal, technical writing, and communication skills


The ideal candidate will possess and/or demonstrate:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited University

Minimum 3 years of experience as an avionics/electrical engineer

Experience in developing system design and performance requirements, prototype development

Experience in qualification testing and product integration

Proficiency with MS Project and building and maintaining Integrated Master Schedules

Strong organizational and personal skills

Strong technical writing and communication skills

Successful past performance in managing complex USAF weapons system/engineering projects preferred

Project Management Professional PMI Certification preferred

Proficient in Earned Value Management preferred

Experience in leading Integrated Product Teams preferred

Position may require moderate travel
