MAT is a family of companies and products providing employment opportunities with more than 14,000 employees in 12 countries.Job DescriptionSummaryPrimary function is to supervise and direct the production of welding components through optimizing the use of production team members and equipment. Manages the production operation working to ensure product quality and achieve production schedules.Essential Functions Provides direction and leadership to the manufacturing team to meet production schedules. Works to resolve technical and production related problems to meet quality standards and delivery requirements. Works with human resources and production manager to select and hire direct labor team members for the 2nd shift welding department. Oversees and/or performs operator assigned preventative maintenance work necessary in maintaining welding and fabrication equipment. Trains machine operators and welders on procedures, methods, problem solving, quality requirements and safety. All full-time employees are required to work a 40-hr week. At times it may be necessary to work additional hours in order to get the required tasks accomplished to meet deadlines. When in discussion with others, this position must display tact, diplomacy, and respect. He or she must listen to, acknowledge and respond to issues in a timely fashion. Must be able to read (in English) written instructions, handbooks, manuals, correspondence, memos, etc. Highly motivated, and well-organized. Maintain high personal standards of quality.
